Founding Story

After experiencing our first co-op hunt, like many other students, we were stressed about whether we’ll land a role, let alone plan to make the most of that experience.

It made us think, how about other students in non-co-op programs? How about those with accessibility needs?

Thus, we propose Intern Sip.

Intern Sip

A one-stop community that bridges internship support opportunities to students of all industries, backgrounds, and accessibility needs.

Why the Name?

• Fun! Fun to design, market, and it makes internships sound less daunting
• Like having drink preferences, everyone has their own preferences in the job search
• Like sharing drinks, everyone can “sip” from each other’s experiences

<aside> 🫂 Global Discord Community

1. Different channels for different industries (i.e. tech, health, entertainment)
   1. Users select interests or all options (”all” for those who don’t know what career they want) to get access and personalized support for it in the respective channels
   2. Receive access to mentors from Marvel, Microsoft, local hospitals, and more!
2. It’s casual :)) While we have workshop events and resume/portfolio review sessions, we also have fun get-togethers and “sleepovers”. </aside>

<aside> 🧑🏻‍🤝‍🧑🏾 Partner Sip [to be launched in F2023]

1. While Intern Sip hosts projects, if students are creating an event/project and want our support and guidance, they can apply to be a partner for our resources.
2. This includes funding, access to our mentors/contacts, sponsorship guidance, we host a workshop at their event, etc.

1. Intern Sip hosts projects for all industries and any student can apply to gain experience on their resume. For this, Intern Sip is a MENTOR and guides/supports the projects.
2. We have dedicated projects and roles for students including those with little/no experience and people with accessibility needs.
3. Upcoming Projects
   1. Animated short film → students can come together to direct and create a film
   2. Tech for good → developers, UX, business, PM, come together to create a product
   3. Designathon → launch a 24-48 hour design competition </aside>
